World Cup Quarter Finals: West Indies vs. Pakistan

Published on March 22, 2011 by   ·   No Comments

West Indies will take on Pakistan in the first quarter final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

West Indies started their world cup journey with a 7 wicket defeat from South Africa, but the team came back with a whooping 215 runs win against the Netherlands. The winning streak continued as they overwhelmed Bangladesh by 9 wickets and Ireland by 44 runs. But the team soon lost its momentum and faced 18 runs defeat from England and an 80 runs defeat from the host India.

Pakistan on the other hand started with a victory against Kenya and then against Sri Lanka and Canada. New Zealand stopped the winning streak of the team, but the team made a sound return by first defeating Zimbabwe and then the last three World Cup winning team Australia.

Pakistan seems stronger at the moment, but cricket is a game of uncertainties and even an over is enough to change the whole game.
