A Weekend with some surprises but big guns get victories

Published on August 30, 2010 by   ·   No Comments

This weekend we witnessed some surprises. Spurs were defeated by Wigan Athletic whereas Sunderland defeated Manchester City in close encounters. Darren Bent scored a late penalty to ensure Sunderland’s first victory of the season whereas Rodallega scored the winner for Wigan.
There were no other surprises as all other big guns registered victories. Chelsea defeated Stoke City 2-0 to register third successive victory. Manchester United defeated West Ham united 3-0 whereas Liverpool and Arsenal defeated West Brom and Black Burn Rovers respectively. Fernando Torres scored a superb volley for Liverpool as they defeated West Brom 1-0 and an all round performance by Arsenal ensured a 1-2 victory over Black Burn Rovers. Aston Villa defeated Everton 1-0 to put more misery on Everton. Wolves and New Castle United settled in a 1-1 draw. Black Pool, Fulham, Birmingham and Bolton also registered 2-2 draws.
Many international players will leave for international duties as qualifying campaign for Euro 2012 gets underway in September. So Premier League will resume after the international break.
