This week's Watchprem Player of the week is none other than Manchester United's 26-year-old signing Ashley Young.
The English Attacking mid-field player had attracted many clubs with his superb performances for Aston Villa time and time again, but it was Manchester United who finally won the race. All eyes were set on the star as he made his BPL debut for Manchester United against West Brom this sunday and boy, did he deliver! Apart from all the chances he created, Ashley Young was involved in both of Manu's goal, assisting the first and almost scoring the second.
Playing on the left wing, Young gave a good pass to his compatriot Wayne Rooney who finished the move well from the edge of the box. But after West Brom's 37th minute equalizer, it looked likely that Manu will just manage a point like the three of its premier league rivals did. After blending so well into the team, Ashley Young thought that it was time for him to show his individual skills, shooting directly after making a run from the left side. The ball had to take Steven Reid's deflection to see it past the goal, but full points to Ashley Young for the run and the try, which combined well to earn Manchester United all three points.
So, the bottom line is that the Champions are off and running in the Barclays Premier League and so is Ashley Young. We would be very sane to predict a terrific season for both of them.
