French full back Patrice Evra has become the latest player to sign a contract extension at Manchester United. The new contract will make Evra to stay at the club until 2014. Veteran Ryan Giggs also signed a one year extension to his contract and now Evra has also put pen to paper with the Red Devils.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insisted that he doesn’t have anything to report about Evra’s future and insisted that the defender is on course to sign a new contract. However, after few days Manchester United have confirmed that the full back has signed a long term deal which will keep him at the club till 2016. Evra has made 226 appearances in the Red shirt for United when he arrived from French outfit Monaco in 2006.  He said.

“It has been a dream come true for me to play in the United shirt. The players along with everyone connected to the club are trying their best to make Manchester United the best team in the world. I have almost won everything at my time at United but still I want to win more trophies and I know that is the mentality of every player playing in this team. Evra was linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer but Sir Alex Ferguson is delighted to have secured the services of French defender. He said.”

“Patrice has certainly become one of the key players in the dressing room and it is great to have Evra in our team for a long time. The experience which he brings into the team would be really important for Manchester United in future.”
