City Get Vital Win

A debut strike from Manchester City multi million pounds signing Edin Dzeko was enough for blue half of Manchester to celebrate which could possibly turn out to be the most important win in City’s history as they open up a 4 point lead over Tottenham in all important 4^th champions league spot.

It was a no surprise when manager Roberto Mancini opted for the same team which started against United in the FA cup semi final at Wembley. As expected it was City who started the game well and David Silva hit the post in the early stages of the match. Writing was on the wall for Blackburn but somehow they were able to keep City at bay.

Rovers then had a penalty claim when Vincent Kompany appeared to have fouled Jason Roberts in the penalty area. Momentum of the match shifted towards Rovers as they started to found more of the ball and stretched City back four to maximum extent. Brett Emerton was a constant threat for City at the right side as he delivered perfect crosses for Jason Roberts and Chris Samba but they were unable to score.

City responded very well after Rovers exploits and Mancini sent Dzeko in the match after 70^th min replacing Adam Johsnon and the towering forward scored the only and decisive goal of the match on 75^th minute of the match. It was a true reward for City’s patience as they kept going on in the match.

Rovers again responded well after they conceded the goal and Jones should have scored the equalizer for them but he was unable to guide his header into the goal. With this win, City are favorites to finish at 4^th spot with a 4 point lead over Tottenham going into the final 5 fixtures of the season. Things are getting worse for Blackburn as they are only a point above the relegation zone. Time is running out for Blackburn and relegation is now really a big possibility.
